This
year, in November, some of my
pupils performed at my concert
at the Beaumaris music centre
and the proceeds went to The
Beaumaris and District silver
band. The band are involved
in teaching young children how
to play and also provide them
all with an instrument each
so the money went to a very
good cause.
All the performers worked very
hard and many of them played
a duet as well as a solo in
front of some very proud parents
and brothers and sisters.
The weekend before at the same
venue the adults that I teach
all played a piece on the piano
in front of each other. The
nerves took hold but they all
encourged each other and felt
much better after the concert
when they'd had a glass of wine!
Earlier in the year I gave
a short recital for my adult
pupils in which I played some
Bach, Haydn, Scarlatti and Faure.
As it is some time since I performed
as a soloist I was also a bit
aprehensive but had a lovely
audience to perform to. I
do a lot of accompanying but
playing as a soloist is very
different therefore I
have decided to make it a regular
event to keep me on my toes!
